Ride Leader: George Gooch

We met at the Flying "J" Truck Stop at 9:00 am on a beautiful day the temperature was just right to. Start the ride to Waxhaw, North Carolina.  The ride consisted of 15 Motorcycles with 18 riders.  We welcomed Scott Haney and Chuck Holland as new member of our group, and welcomed back Jessie Hinds.

Our trip took us North on highway 321 to Winnsboro and Northeast on highway 200.  As we turned on to highway 21 South of Great falls we were halted by a Funeral Procession going North.  We started rolling again after the last car in the procession passed, trying to stay a distance back out of respect.  Much to the surprise of the group, all the cars pulled over to let the procession past and stayed in place until we passed.  The looks we received were priceless; I think we added to the reputation to the recently departed, Good or bad.

We made it to Waxhaw just before noon and pulled into the Big Dog Cafe.  The food was good and the service was even better.  I would recommend it if you are looking for a good ride and a great meal.  After the meal we took a little time to look at some of the stores before getting on the road.

Heading back we went east to Monroe then south on highway 200 back through Lancaster to highway 21 south into Blythewood.  Total ride was about 160 miles.  The weather was hot coming back but the fellowship, camaraderie and being on two wheels made the ride worth it.
