Ride Leader: George Parsons
We had 14 bikes and 16 people to show up on a very cool (should I say COLD) morning. Had to get some paper work taken care of and we were off at 9:45 AM. By the time we got to the REST STOP we had some frozen fingers and noses. However, the sun was out and as we rode to lunch it became much warmer. Of the 6 roads around Lake Wateree that we generally ride 4 of them have recently been resurfaced with tar and loose gravel. They have not had enough traffic to remove the gravel and after an attempt to ride and enjoy one it was decided to avoid the rest. However, what we did ride was fun and challenging. We made it to Boykin and did have lunch at the Boykin Company Grill. Other than dealing with the cold weather and the interior of the grill I think everyone had a good time.
After lunch, some went to the Honda grand opening and some went home by way of US 378 & 76 (Garners Ferry Road). All in all it turned out to be a very good day for a ride. Hope the pictures Cajun took will convey the feeling.
