Jim Wood
opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. and talked about the Motorcycle Waiver and
Release Form that everyone needs to fill out to ride with the Star Riders.
He also ask all current member of Star Touring to sign the charter that
will need to be turned in to the Star Touring organization in order for us to
keep our Charter.
David Smith
has made badges for members (including Star Kids that attend meetings) and asks
that if you did not receive a badge tonight that you sign the badge list and he
will have one for you at the next meeting.
The badges are to be picked up before the meetings and worn during the
meetings so we can get to know each other and put a face with the name.
The badges should be returned at the end of the meeting.
Everyone
was asked to sign the sign in sheet and all visitors were ask to list their
name, address, phone number and an e-mail address so we can get in touch with
them.
George
Parsons reminded us about the Deals Gap trip coming up April 24, 2003.
He needed names immediately and has already reserved 15 rooms at the
Young Harris Motel. So far it looks
like we have close to 35 people going on the trip.
We plan to leave at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 24, 2003 and ride to Young
Harris Georgia. Friday April 25, 2003 we will ride the dragon, Saturday we
will ride in North Georgia and have Dinner together and return to Columbia on
Sunday April 27, 2003.
Lowell
Thomas said there would be a ride this Saturday, January 25, 2003 if the weather
permits. They will ride to Santee
and eat at the Lone Star Restaurant. All
riders should meet at the Kmart in Lexington at 10:00 a.m.

Congratulations
to Michael Smathers who won the drawing this month in the amount of $77.50 which
was half of the $155.00 collected.
We
had three visitors attend the meeting this week.
Don't forget, if you would like to sponsor a ride contact Lowell Thomas to let him know you want a turn to lead us on your favorite roads, or a great route you have traveled. Remember all rides will use the 50/50 rule. In other words, > 50 degrees and < 50% chance of rain. Please use The Weather Channel as your guide. (SAFETY FIRST)
CLUB MEMBERS SHOULD NOT BE THE ONLY PEOPLE ALLOWED TO HAVE FUN—So, please join us at our next monthly meeting held at Captain Georges Seafood Restaurant on Knox Abbott Drive in Cayce, SC. It will start promptly at 7pm on the 17th of February 2003.
