The Rumblings

NEWSLETTER FOR
STAR RIDERS COLUMBIA, SC
CHAPTER #124 July 18, 2005
Our Monday night meeting began at 7:15 pm.
We had several new people attending, welcome to all of you, we are happy to have you. There were 55 1/4 present, our 1/4 being Miss Pollard, one of our newest Stars.
Vice-president Rick Floyd began by reminding us of The March of Dimes fund raising ride and the mile markers you can purchase. This is a really good cause and we encourage you to participate.
One of our members is very ill with cancer and we would like to send him all our prayers and support, Frank Kettola, you are on our minds and in our hearts.
Camp Kemo will host the annual ride for the children on July 26 at 9:00 am. Contact Judy Frick for directions.
Ride coordinator, George Gooch, went over the upcoming ride to Waxhaw, NC. Meet at the Flying J at 9:00 am with kickstands up at 9:30, headed to Waxhaw via 321-200-21-9-521, stop at Andrew Jackson State Park for helmets and on to the Big Dog Cafe for lunch. A little shopping and return home via 200-21 into Blythewood and separate. Remember to bring your helmet and water, it's suppose to be real!!! Hot.
Our beloved president, Jim Wood, has graciously volunteered to lead our next scheduled ride Aug 20, 2005. More information to come.
Veteran's coordinator, Cajun Cavallier, put an idea on the table for consideration. There is a retirement home in Camden that would like some of our members to visit on Aug 13, to talk with the residents and show off our bikes for their pleasure. If you have time to spare and are interested in this worthy cause, please contact Cajun through the message board.
The 50/50 was 135.00 with 50% going to, as is tradition, a new member, Scott Haney. Congratulations Scott.
Thank you to all who attended and again we encourage you to join us in fellowship and the joy of riding. Be safe and watch out for the other guy.
