CHAPTER #124 June 21, 2004
President Jim Woods opened the meeting and thanked everyone for coming.
We had 51 people present at the meeting including 12 visitors. We are still trying to reach an attendance of 100 people. Welcome to all our visitors.
The drawing this month was $87.50 so $43.75 went to our lucky winner Bruce Jones. Congratulations Bruce!
Chris Haynes and James Horne told us about their new Cycle Sundays Bucket Café at 114 Glassmaster Road in Lexington and invited everyone to come out and enjoy. On July 11th from 3 p.m. until closing there will be Entertainment, Pig Picken, Bike Show, Stunt team and lots of vendors set up for you to look over their goods.
Moe, Kevin and Kenny were at the meeting from Capital Thunder to let us know that they want our business and that they work on all bikes not just Harley’s. Their labor charge is $50.00 per hour and they can order parts for all bikes. They are also willing to help with charity rides.
Whitney and Allen also represented Carolina Honda on River Drive at our meeting. They would also like our business and told us about their specials. Carolina Honda specializes in the Shadow line and has lots of accessories. They also use the Leman kits to make Trikes out of all kinds of motorcycles. Their labor rate is $68.00 per hour. They also have a program called CHIPS that covers your oil change and regular maintenance checkups. They offer a 10% discount for our club members. They also had a drawing and gave away 4 Carolina Honda T-shirts. Congratulations to the lucky winners!!
Betsy Gooch mentioned to the vendors that Harley Davidson was the only dealer that carried women’s clothing and accessories or you had to go on line. Heads up dealers, there are more and more women riding now days!!!
George Parsons gave an update on upcoming events. The ride this Saturday, June 26 will leave Publix on Broad River Road (close to I-26) at 9:00 a.m. headed to Lake Lure. The group will have lunch around the lake and return to Columbia around 7:30 p.m. This should be about a 300 mile trip.

Jim Berkley told us about a ride July 9th that will be an evening around a Lake, watch for details. Jim also reminded us of the ride July 23-25 to Waynesville, NC. You need to sign up as soon as possible, he has 20 rooms set aside for the club. Will pull out on Friday July 23 at 10:00 a.m. Watch the bulletin board for more details. Cajun and Bill are working on details for the ride to Savannah, GA. Mark your calendars for September 10-11 for a 2 night stay with the possibility of a dinner cruise. Watch for more details or contact Bill Reber or Cajun for more information.
