CHAPTER #124 - May 17, 2004
President Jim Woods opened the meeting and thanked everyone for coming.
We had 66 people present at the meeting including 6 visitors. We are still trying to reach an attendance of 100 people. One of our first time attendees was the newest Star Kid,
Alyssa Pollard and what a cutie she is. At just two months old she is attending her first Star Riders meeting. Other visitors were, Jay Daniels, Lonnie Hoke, Jessie Hinds, Angela Mitchell, and William Wyatt. Welcome to all our visitors.
The drawing this month was $190.00 so $95.50 went to our lucky winner Pam Gannon. Congratulations Pam!
The new T-shirts are in and if you weren’t there to pick them up they are bagged and waiting on you. We do have a few extra if you didn’t order one and would like one please check with Gerri Wood.
George Parsons gave an update on upcoming events and announced that on the ride to Sumter for the bike show our very own John Frick took Best of Show!! Congratulations John!
Cajun will lead a ride Saturday, May 22 to Pageland to eat at Johnny D’s. Meet at the BP station at exit 87 off of I-20 in Elgin at 9:00 a.m. with kickstands up at 9:30 a.m.
Mike Clark will be leading the rides in June. The first ride is June 12th up to Union County and the State Park and to eat at Midway Bar B Q. The group will meet at the Waffle House on Broad River Road and I-26, watch the website for more details.
Jim Berkley reminded us of the ride July 23-15 to Waynesville, NC. You need to sign up as soon as possible, he has 20 rooms set aside for the club. Will pull out on Friday July 23 at 10:00 a.m. Watch the bulletin board for more details. If you need more information about the trip, please contact Jim. (berkles1946@hotmail.com)
Looks like the interest is there for another ride to Savannah, GA. Mark your calendars for September 11 for a 2 night stay with the possibility of a dinner cruise. Watch for more details or contact Bill Reber for more information.
George has made a request for someone to be thinking about being the ride coordinator for next year. The job would mean finding ride leaders for 11 months of the year; December is covered with Charity rides and the Christmas Party.
