CHAPTER #124 November 15, 2004

The meeting was called to order by President Jim Wood and he welcomed everyone.  He reminded all those present that the next meeting on December 20th will be our Christmas party.  Please sign up with Judy before Dec 6th which is our deadline to have the money to the caterer.  Dues from the treasury will be used to subsidize the price of our meals.  Price is $10.00 per person.  

Jim Ballenger reminded us that the last official club ride is this weekend November 20th which he will be leading.  Meet at the K-Mart parking lot on Knox Abbot Drive in Cayce at 9:30am for a ride to Blackville SC. Kickstands up at 10:00.  Ride to Blackville via Hwy 321 to SC#3.  We will eat at Dukes Bar B Que (no credit cards or checks -- bring cash!!  $7.00 all you can eat).  Then back roads to Edisto Gardens.  Back to K-Mart where the ride will end.  Back in town by 4:00PM. 

Chapter 124 was honored to have visitors from Essex England - Phil and Chris Matthews.  Also in attendance for the first time was David Lesley. Welcome ALL!!

Judy Frick told us about the Christmas Party. The location will be the same as last year -- Bethel United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on highway 321 in Blythewood.  Your $10.00 per person must be paid no later than December 6th so we can give an accurate head count to the caterer Sweet Magnolias.  If you need to mail in your $10.00 please mail it to Judy Frick, 1250 Frick Road, Blythewood, SC  29016. Menu will be Chicken Cordon Bleu and Peppered Beef Tenderloin.  Vegetables and desserts will also be provided.  See message board for all the particulars.  We have 60 signed up so far and hope that more will attend.  EASY and RIDER will have a few surprises for us all!!

George Gouch, 2005 Rider Leader, spoke briefly to us about ride safety and 2005 ride schedule.  Rides in January and July are open.  Interested -- please contact George.  George also reminded us that each ride leader will choose a tail gunner.  During the ride, stay in the pack between the leader and the tail gunner.  If you plan to leave the group, please inform the leader and the tail gunner so no-one will get hurt or left behind. 

The Blue Knights Toys for Tots ride will be the first Sunday in December -- December 5th.  Staging at the Pepsi plant beginning at 11AM.  Leave for down-town with a police escort at 1PM.  There will be a DJ this year!! Please support this very worthwhile charity.

The Vets Christmas Charity Ride, sponsored by Carolina Honda is December 12th.  Meet at 1PM at Carolina Honda, Located behind the Flying J @ I-20 & HWY 321on Buckner Road at.  Leave for Dorn VA Medical Center at 2PM.  For more information, cal 252-3381.

The 50/50 drawing of $97.50 went to John Bender!!  Congratulations, John.  Ride safe and we look forward to seeing you at the Christmas party on December 20th.
