CHAPTER #124 - October 20th, 2003

President Jim Woods opened the meeting and thanked everyone for coming. 

What a great group, 67 people were present at the meeting, including 5 visitors.

Wayne from Columbia Powersports was here to discuss insurance discounts on your motorcycles.  You can buy the Theft plan, Road hazard plan or both plans.  The road hazard insurance was said to be a good buy.  If anyone has questions regarding the insurance, please call Linda Smith at Columbia Powersports on Two Notch Road 803-786-1160.

We need a head count for the Christmas Party.  Please be prepared to let Nedra, Jim or Gerri know at the November meeting if you will be attending the Christmas Party.  The date is our regular monthly meeting, which is December 15 at 7:00 p.m.  Rebecca’s is catering the event and there will not be a business meeting that night.  The cost is determined by how many are coming.

The club selected a slate of officers for 2004 to be voted on at our November monthly meeting.

 There will be a Sumter Poker Run on October 25th.  First bike out 11:00 a.m. and last bike out at 1:00 p.m.  there is a $1,000.00 purse.  Octoberfest Southern Style, with all proceeds to benefit Sumter Youth Athletics.  There will be Bar B Que and a live band so if you’re interested, meet at Smuckers of Sumter.  Extreme Sport of Sumter (803-905-7766) is sponsoring this event.

 The club has a ride this Saturday, October 25th and Rick Floyd will be leading this ride.  Meet at Hilltop Restaurant on St. Andrews Road and I-26 at 9:00 a.m. with kick stands up at 9:30 a.m.   Destination for this ride has not been determined.

 Saturday, December 6th is the Christmas Parade for the Catfish Stomp.  Cajun Cavalier needs to know by the November meeting how many would like to participate.

 The drawing this month was $85.00 and was won by Denise Fogle.  Congratulations Denise!!

 A big Thank you to Judy Frick for taking the minutes at the October meeting while I was in Revival.

 Also, thanks to all the Star Riders that attended worship service this past Sunday morning at Eason Memorial Baptist Church in Eastover.  Our own Michael Smathers and Jim Wood did an awesome job portraying the Leper and Jesus in a very touching skit.  Thanks again for your support.

 Don’t forget the meeting next month on November 17th and be safe!!
