STAR RIDERS COLUMBIA, SC
CHAPTER #124 September 19, 2005
Our meeting began at 7:10 p.m. with 41 in attendance. As is the norm, our new attendees were identified: Dick Chance who rides an 05 V Star 1100 Silverado, welcome Dick.
The three riders, who joined Mike Clark last Saturday, say that we missed a great one. They got a personal tour of a completely restored historical house and had lunch at the Beacon.
Because
of all the upcoming rides and Fall events across the state, our next club ride
will be in late October. We will be going to Charleston on October 22 with Rick
Floyd as ride leader.
I know I'm looking forward to that trip. Please join us.
A reminder about an upcoming event: Saturday, October 15, 2005, Ride to the Farm. All proceeds benefit the Newberry Boys Farm for a fire sprinkler system. Sponsored by Calvary Chapel Spirit Riders.
One of our own, Frank Ketola, is waging a fight for his life. Frank is in a lot of pain and is very weak. He and his family are very grateful for all the phone calls; however this can be very tiring. Franks family has asked that prayers, cards and e-mails be your communication of choice. If you would like to speak with anyone regarding Frank’s current condition please contact Dusty Rhodes or Ray Kitchens, you can reach them through the message board. Franks address for cards and notes is: 116 Tannock Ct., Lexington, SC 29072. Most of all please keep Frank and Wanda in your prayers.
More information on the Christmas Party will be coming up at our next meeting. We will be asking for reservations and payment for the party before we can give a head count for the caterer.
Nominations for board members will be taken at the October meeting and voting will take place at the November meeting. All board members must be a member of the National StarRiders.
Our new logo has been approved by national and we want to Thank Mark Davis for all his work on this project. Not only did he devise the logo but he went above and beyond and presented our president Jim Wood with a cutting board with the new logo burned into the top. Beautiful work Mark, Thank you for all you do for our Star Rider family.
Now that the logo has been approved, Gerri Wood will be ordering our new T-shirts, both long sleeve and short sleeve, all will be unisex and she will try to keep the price down to below 20.00. She will have more information at next meeting.
Again this meeting Scott Haney has entertained us with The Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde Motorcyclist comparison. Very funny Scott.
Tonight’s 50/50 was $62.50 and won by Zach Smathers. Congratulations Zach.
